An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Control Officer to join the Risk and Assurance team at CCL Secure England. We are the manufacturers of Guardian©, the world's most sophisticated banknote substrate.
This role offers an attractive shift pattern of three 12-hour shifts per week (Tuesday to Thursday), alternating between days and nights, with only one Friday day shift per month. So what is the role and what skills do you need?
The Product Control Officer will act as the company’s custodian of all on site polymer substrate throughout its cycle.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Custodianship of all product, ensuring product security controls are implemented and adhered to, maintaining records to ensure full traceability of product.
- Complete end-to-end reconciliation of all barcoded product to provide assurance and compliance with customer contracts.
- Investigate reconciliation discrepancies through problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Act as the subject matter expert and key point of contact for reconciliation and product security policies.
- Create and maintain accurate records including reconciliation registers, destruction certificates, retained sample registers, handover documents, work instructions etc.
- Data capture, trend analysis, and reporting of reconciliation trends and issues.
- Generate action plans and preventative actions to reduce the risk of future reconciliation failures.
- Maintain a technical understanding of the various systems at each stage of the production process to assist with reconciliation and investigations.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to review and continuously improve security practices for the protection of raw material, work in process, finished product and other assets.
- May be exposed to customers, and internal or 3rd party audits inspecting asset protection or reconciliation activities.
- Controlled destructive recycling; operation of granulator, undertake fault finding to resolve processing issues and carry out day to day maintenance.
- HSE-Safe systems of work, risk identification and creation/maintaining up to date risk assessments.
- Stock and inventory management to ensure required level of consumables for operation.
- Operation of counting machine for counting of waste and reconciliation purposes.
- Support Maintenance when working on reactive and preventative duties.
- Provide support to the internal audit programme where required, completing audits, reporting findings and ensuring that corrective action is agreed.
As the successful candidate for this role, you will have a strong attention to detail, integrity and a clear focus towards problem solving. Communication skills are vital, with the ability to challenge processes and influence individuals with confidence.

As such, CCL Secure is an accredited Living Wage employer. The salary for this role will be up to £35,139 (inclusive of 15% shift allowance), depending on relevant experience. In addition to this we offer a quarterly performance related pay and annual performance bonus so the ability to directly affect your reward is entirely in your hands.
Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays)
