Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team specialising in industrial combustion boilers. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.
This position is full-time, based at Newbie, and reports to the Factory Manager.
Working Pattern: Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm, and Fri 8am-1pm (37 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, including: Asquith Gantry Mill, XYZ 100 HD Mill, XYZ Proturn, XYZ 320 LTY Lathe
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accuracy in machining processes
- Program and edit CNC machine programs using G-code and conversational controls to optimise efficiency and precision
- Conduct precision machining operations to fabricate components used in industrial boiler systems.
- Utilise measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor machine operations, detect malfunctions, and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.
- Adhere to all health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with workplace regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and quality control.
Skills
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling and mechanical processes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Proficiency in CNC programming (G-code, Siemens, Fanuc, or Heidenhain controls)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in precision machining
- Strong numerical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
