We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on General Manager to lead the launch and day-to-day operations of our new eatery/bar with more info to come on concept and name. The General Manager will be responsible for creating an exceptional customer experience, building and developing a high-performing team, and ensuring the business operates efficiently, profitably, and in line with our brand values.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in establishing a new food destination from the ground up.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management
- Oversee all daily restaurant operations.
- Ensure consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service.
- Develop and maintain efficient operating procedures.
- Monitor performance and implement improvements where needed.
- Ensure the venue is fully prepared for daily service.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and retain a positive, motivated team.
- Create staff schedules to meet business needs while managing labour costs.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing development.
- Foster a positive workplace culture built on teamwork, accountability, and respect.
Customer Experience
- Deliver outstanding hospitality and resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Build strong relationships with regular customers and encourage repeat business.
- Ensure every guest receives a welcoming and memorable dining experience.
Financial Management
- Manage budgets, labour costs, food costs, and operating expenses.
- Monitor daily sales and profitability.
- Analyse key performance indicators and prepare regular operational reports.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health and safety, licensing, and employment regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required audits.
- Ensure all staff follow company policies and procedures.
Marketing & Business Development
- Support local marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Work with ownership to grow the business and increase customer engagement.
- Identify opportunities for events, partnerships, and community involvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Hospitality Manager.
- Have some understanding on wine or have qualifications in wine and drinks
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with restaurant POS systems and inventory management.
- Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
