Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Activities Director to join our team at a care home in the senior living industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for enhancing the quality of life for residents through engaging and stimulating activities.
Duties:
- Plan, organise, and oversee a variety of recreational activities for residents in a care home setting
- Develop and implement activity programs that cater to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents
- Coordinate outings, events, and group activities to promote social interaction and community engagement
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities are tailored to meet the individual needs and preferences of residents
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities to continuously improve the overall resident experience
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within a nursing home or assisted living environment is desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and sensitivity to the needs of residents with cognitive impairments
- Strong organisational skills to plan and execute a diverse range of activities
- A caring and compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing meaningful experiences for elderly residents
