Job description - the role
Purpose of the role:
- To support the manufacture and inspection of aerospace components using precision machining and inspection techniques
- To ensure all products meet strict engineering, safety, and quality standards in line with technical specifications
- To contribute to efficient shopfloor operations by working flexibly across multiple manufacturing processes
What you’ll do as a Skilled Manufacturing Operator:
- Carry out machining or inspection, and non-destructive testing (NDT) activities in line with technical instructions and engineering drawings
- Set up, operate, and run programmes across a range of manufacturing equipment
- Work across multiple shopfloor areas including machining, inspection, welding processes, furnace operations, and polishing
- Process components such as blades, discs, blisks, and drums to required specifications
- Collaborate closely with support functions to resolve production or quality issues
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, ensuring safe working practices are followed at all times
- Work flexibly across shift patterns including days, 2-shift, 3-shift, or 4-shift rotations depending on business needs
The skills you’ll need as a Skilled Manufacturing Operator:
- A recognised Level 3 qualification and Engineering Apprenticeship**
- Time-served experience in machining and/or inspection within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical instructions, and inspection procedures
- Experience in manufacturing, machining, or inspection (aerospace experience desirable but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varying shift patterns
