Kitchen Porter – Part-Time

Murphy Browns is seeking an experienced and reliable Part-Time Kitchen Porter to join our dedicated hospitality team.

Key Responsibilities

Wash, sanitise, and store dishes, glassware, cooking utensils, and kitchen equipment
Operate and maintain the commercial dishwasher
Keep kitchen, wash-up, and storage areas clean, organised, and hygienic at all times
Assist with basic food preparation when required
Ensure correct stock rotation and storage procedures are followed
Clean and sanitise work surfaces, equipment, floors, and other kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping
Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules and records
Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with company procedures
Maintain strict compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP requirements
Support the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements

Previous Kitchen Porter experience is essential – applications without relevant experience will not be considered
Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards

Position Details

Hours: Wednesday to Friday, 5:00pm – 9:00pm/10:00pm (depending on business levels)
Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent
Probation Period: Successful candidates will be subject to a 12-week probationary period, during which performance, attendance, reliability, and suitability for the role will be assessed.
