The Role
As a
Senior Lead Settlement Analyst, you will play a key role in overseeing and delivering SONI’s settlement processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and compliance across all activities.
You will act as a subject matter expert, leading the coordination of monthly settlement processes, resolving complex issues and supporting continuous improvement of systems and procedures.
Working closely with internal teams, IT and external stakeholders, you will contribute to the development and testing of system changes, ensuring robust implementation and effective change management.
The role requires strong analytical and organisational skills, alongside the ability to communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, including regulators, market participants and government bodies.
This is a dynamic and responsible position suited to someone who thrives on managing complex processes, driving improvements and contributing to the effective operation of the electricity market.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of operational responsibilities to support TSO settlement processes and be recognised as a subject matter expert.
- Identify and escalate complex issues to the management team.
- Coordinate and monitor monthly processing activities.
- Support the development and enhancement of new and existing processes and procedures.
- Lead the development of planned technical testing for internal systems following system changes, and coordinate testing and change management enhancements with IT for end users.
- Liaise regularly with key stakeholders, including suppliers, generators, regulators, interconnector administrators, and government departments, maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Produce a range of internal and external reports on market data.
- This list is non-exhaustive; all employees are expected to proactively identify areas requiring business support, working within their capabilities and competencies to promote SONI as a world-class TSO.
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
- Degree in business, IT, finance, engineering, or a related discipline, typically with a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong time management and coordination skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lead subject matter input into system development and change initiatives in coordination with the wider business.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
Desirable:
- Understanding of the Northern Ireland Transmission System.
- Detailed knowledge of the energy sector.
