Full job description

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Make sure operating systems and software are regularly updated with security patches.
Verify that antivirus or endpoint protection software is installed and working.
Ensure firewalls are enabled and properly configured on all devices.
Organize regular security checks and compliance reviews against Cyber Essentials requirements.
Work with IT team or suppliers to fix security issues and vulnerabilities.
Maintain records and evidence needed for Cyber Essentials certification and audits.
Support staff with basic cyber security guidance and awareness.
Coordinate the secure setup of new computers and the secure disposal of old equipment.
Act as the main point of contact for Cyber Essentials PC-related activities and certification assessments
Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests from end users.
Provide first-line troubleshooting and resolve common hardware, software, and account issues.
Track and analyse break-fix ticket statistics, trends, and recurring issues.
Produce reports and metrics for presentations and management reviews.
Assist with user onboarding, account setup, and basic IT training where required.

Essential criteria for this position are:

First-line IT support, incident management, and break-fix troubleshooting.
Experience of Ticket triage, prioritisation, and escalation.
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience of documentation management
Experience of reporting and analysis of support metrics, trends, and break-fix statistics.
Awareness of Cyber Essentials-aligned PC management, including patching, endpoint security, and asset management
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within technical support teams
Experience of project-based deployment and support environments
Proactive, organised, and diligent approach to service delivery and continuous improvement
Experience of Laptop and desktop installation, configuration, and support
Experience of Hardware diagnostics, repair, and fault resolution
Experience of Printer, peripheral, and network device support

Pay: From £32,000.00 per year
