About the Role
Seaton Estate is one of Scotland's most prestigious holiday and residential parks — a 5-star estate set in the beautiful coastal landscape of Angus, recognised by the Scottish Tourist Board for eight consecutive years. Home to high-quality holiday lodges and an established residential community, we take immense pride in the condition, appearance, and atmosphere of everything within our grounds.
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Handyman / Maintenance Operative to join our on-site team. This is a hands-on, varied role covering the full breadth of estate maintenance — from lodge repairs and plumbing to grounds care and general upkeep. You will play a central role in maintaining the exceptional standards our owners, residents, and guests expect from a 5-star environment.
If you take pride in your work, enjoy variety, and understand what it means to maintain a premium estate, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out a wide range of day-to-day maintenance tasks across the estate, responding promptly to reported issues and planned works
- Performing plumbing repairs, fault-finding, and basic installations — including pipework, taps, toilets, shower units, and external connections
- Undertaking joinery work including repairs to lodge interiors and exteriors, fencing, decking, steps, gates, and fixed fixtures and fittings
- Maintaining the grounds to a consistently high standard — including mowing, strimming, hedge trimming, edging, and general landscaping upkeep throughout the 11-month season
- Conducting routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address issues before they escalate
- Supporting the seasonal preparation and close-down of facilities and lodges as required
- Working safely and in compliance with relevant health and safety requirements at all times
- Liaising professionally with owners, residents, and guests when working in or around private areas of the estate
- Reporting significant defects or safety concerns to the management team in a timely manner
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance, handyman, or estates operative role
- Solid practical plumbing skills — fault diagnosis, repairs, and basic installation work
- Competent joinery and carpentry skills — confident working with timber, fixings, and general lodge or property repairs
- Experience in grounds maintenance including the operation of ride-on or pedestrian mowers, strimmers, and hedge cutters
- A methodical, thorough approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload effectively
- Good communication skills and a professional, courteous manner when interacting with residents and guests
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills
- Experience working on a holiday park, residential park, or similar managed estate
- Familiarity with external decking, timber treatment, or lodge exterior maintenance
