We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dry Liner and Ceiling FixerS to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing dry lining systems, MF ceilings, including fire blanket works and related interior finishes for our live care home project in Arbroath. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse sites, employing a range of construction techniques and tools. Candidates should be committed to safety, quality workmanship, and punctuality. All positions are paid, including internships, and offer a chance to develop further skills within the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Installing dry lining boards, plasterboard, and ceiling systems in accordance with project specifications.
- Fixing ceilings using appropriate methods and materials, ensuring secure and level finishes.
- Reading and interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans to execute tasks accurately.
- Using hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, trowels, and specialised fixing equipment efficiently.
- Operating power tools safely to cut, shape, and install materials as required.
- Assisting with the preparation of surfaces by cleaning and preparing walls or ceilings prior to installation.
- Collaborating with other trades such as carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and masons to ensure seamless project progress.
- Maintaining a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste materials responsibly.
- Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations on-site at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dry lining, ceiling fixing or related interior finishing roles within the construction sector.
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, plastering, fabrication, construction painting, carpentry, and schematics is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools specific to dry lining and ceiling installation tasks.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately.
- Strong understanding of health & safety procedures relevant to construction environments.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality finishes.
- Construction experience across commercial or residential projects is preferred but not essential for motivated candidates willing to learn.
