Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment.

Duties

Operate flatbed lorries and other HGV vehicles in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
Deliver goods to clients and distribution centres across designated routes
Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues
Ensure all cargo is securely loaded, balanced, and properly documented before transit
Maintain accurate delivery records and complete all necessary paperwork
Adhere to scheduled delivery times whilst maintaining safety standards at all times
Assist with loading and unloading where required, ensuring proper handling of goods
Follow company policies on driving hours, rest periods, and tachograph regulations

Skills

Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed loads
Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety procedures within the UK
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence (Cat C+E)
Delivery driver experience preferred, with a focus on timely and safe deliveries
Ability to operate flatbed equipment safely and efficiently
Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage time well
Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude with excellent communication skills

This position offers a vital role within our logistics operations, requiring dedication to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. We welcome experienced drivers committed to maintaining high standards of service.

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
