Overview and Purpose of Role
As an important member of the cutting shop team you will be responsible for ensuring that all components are cut accurately and timely to ensure production targets are met.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and understand engineering drawings
- Supervise the given machine during operation
- Load and unload various cuts of material to suit the job
- Place all components on pallets and label accordingly
- Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of machines
- Ensure all scrap metal is cleared and deposited in the skip area
- Carry out any relevant training required
- Ensure compliance to all general site Rules, Regulations, Policies & Procedures
- Any other duties as required by management to suit business needs.
- Adherence to our ISO 9001 Quality management system.
- Adherence to company health and safety procedures.
Essential Skills -
- Previous experience working in a Cutting Shop/Machine Shop
- Knowledge of operating CNC Machines
- Must have knowledge of various types of steel and tensity.
- Communication - Able to communicate problems/issues at all team members
- Initiative - Ability to work on their own or as part of their team
- Versatility/Adaptability - Ability to adjust to change e.g. job machine/process
- Problem Solving - Ability to fault find, trouble shoot, diagnose and resolve issues
- Quality - Comply with quality regulations & standards, attention to detail
- Available to work flexible hours when required with notice
- *Experience using CNC machines or manual mill is essential*
Hours of work:
Monday – Thursday 6pm - 6am
12 hour shifts
Overtime is paid at 1.5X after 41.5 hours
20% night shift allowance
