Location: Church Balk, Thorne, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN8 5BY

Contract Type: Permanent/Term Time Plus 10 additional days

Contract Term: Full - Time

Hours Per Week: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting the welfare of children and young people, ensuring safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented, and providing guidance and support to staff. This is a key post within the school which requires dedication and a highly efficient and responsible approach.

We are looking for a Designated Safeguarding Lead who:

Has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to build positive, trusting relationships with students, families, staff and external agencies.
Is an effective listener, able to respond with empathy, professionalism and discretion to safeguarding concerns.
Can communicate confidently and sensitively with students, parents/carers and professionals, ensuring clear and appropriate information sharing.
Is competent in managing safeguarding referrals, handling confidential and sensitive information, and maintaining accurate records.
Can remain calm, decisive and professional when dealing with safeguarding incidents, emergencies or complex situations, ensuring the welfare of children remains paramount.
