We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the our team at Heathrow Immigration Removal Center (IRC) located in West Drayton with capacity of 965 residents.

Hours
This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week.
Mix of day and night shifts with a total of 14 shifts over 4 week (Monday - Sunday)
7:00am - 7:30pm or 7pm - 7:30am
Salary
This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £32,134 per annum.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
- Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc
- Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
- Support the nursing team with all aspects of care
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients
- You will primarily be working within the Primary Care team, although may be required to carry out duties in the other functions

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate
- Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable!
- Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting
- Have clinical experience - venepuncture, ECGs etc
- Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
