Your future role

As a Technical and Trainer Assessor, you will assist the Training and Competence Manager in ensuring that staff working on Derby Projects and other relevant initiatives in the UK are technically trained and demonstrably competent in performing their tasks and responsibilities in accordance with current legislation and industry standards. This involves conducting training and assessments with minimal disruption to production while ensuring that all relevant documentation and systems are accurately maintained and kept up to date.

Additionally, the role will lead the development of technical training initiatives, including E-learning packages, theoretical classroom training, and practical on-site delivery, while also supporting the development of safety-critical assessments.

We’ll look to you for:

Carry out competence assessments on staff, certify competence and ensure records are maintained to an auditable standard that meets requirement of current legislation
Carry out risk assessments on appropriate work tasks at all depots as required
Develop and deliver training courses e.g. technical Vehicle Introduction Training (VIT) courses, systems training, software training, plant and equipment training
Carry out in-process audits, product assurance and compliance checks
Input and maintain data in technical competency and learning management systems to support the needs of the depot and the team
Support with the Internal Verification process of technical training and assessment
Some travel between relevant Depots to fulfil Training and Assessment responsibilities when required

Level 3 qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
Knowledge of technical systems, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic etc.
A recognised Assessor qualification - desirable
A recognised Trainer qualification - desirable
Proficient with Microsoft Office packages
Current driving licence is desirable
