We’re looking for a self-motivated and organised person who pays incredible attention to detail to join our friendly team in Folkestone. This is a pivotal role within the company, as you will be the only dedicated creative art worker and solely responsible for many of the tasks.
Your job would involve:
- creating visual guides for our sales and production department
- guiding our sales team on artwork/print requirements and the best branding/production processes to use for client requirements
- communicating with clients (or their designers) when necessary, on more complicated print jobs
- liaising with our production team on what effects/standards can be achieved and relaying that to our sales team
- ordering materials such as dies, foils and papers
- taking pictures of completed jobs for our internal library, and, if you have good photography skills, shooting images of products for our website and social media channels
To take on this role it is essential that you can:
- Create or adjusting/re-draw client logos in vector format
- Create print-ready PDF artwork, following assets & guidelines supplied by clients
- Understand and work within brand guidelines
- Check that artwork supplied by others is in a correct print ready format
- Produce pdf visuals of products/designs
- Use the Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, Acrobat, Photoshop & InDesign on Mac to a very proficient standard
- manage several projects/tasks at once and remain level-headed under pressure of tight deadlines
It is also important that you have:
- a meticulous attention to detail and a desire to delight clients
- the ability to work collaboratively with others, but are also happy to work alone
- a positive, can-do attitude, with the enthusiasm to ‘push the boundaries’ of what we can achieve
- strong communications skills
- a good eye for design and awareness of trends that may be relevant to us and our clients
- a methodical and organised approach to your work
- self-set high standards and act with integrity
Whilst not essential, it would be great if you had:
- some knowledge of finishing techniques such as hot foiling, debossing and screen printing
- familiarity with UV digital print and its capabilities
- an ability to take reasonable photos
What about qualifications?
We would expect that candidates would have a degree (or equivalent) in graphic design (or similar) and no less than one year’s work experience to be able to fulfil the job requirements – but we’re open to applications from people without this, if you can clearly demonstrate that you have the requisite skills and qualities.
We do need someone who can hit the ground running and who doesn’t need any training in the essential skills (as outlined above).

· Fixed work hours of 9am -5.30pm (5.15 on Fridays) and no overtime or out of hours work needed.
