At North Tyneside Council, people are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for an ambitious, innovative and inspiring registered social worker to take up the exciting role of Specialist Practitioner (Practice Assurance).
This is a unique opportunity to influence and strengthen Adult Social Care practice at a strategic level. The role goes far beyond compliance - you will play a central part in shaping, developing and embedding high-quality, strengths- based practice across the service. Working closely with the Principal Social Worker (Adults), you will support a culture of curiosity, learning and continuous improvement.
You will work collaboratively with practitioners, managers and people with lived experience to drive meaningful change, ensuring that our services deliver the best possible outcomes for residents.
This is a varied and rewarding role, combining analytical expertise, leadership and practice development. You will use insight, evidence and feedback to identify strengths and areas for development, supporting colleagues to build confidence, capability and consistency in their practice.
The successful candidate will:

Co-ordinate the delivery of the Practice Quality Assessment Framework, using data, audit and feedback to identify strengths and areas for development
- Translate learning into action, supporting continuous improvement and professional development across teams
- Modell and further embed strengths-based practice, including our ‘Ways to Wellbeing’ approach and wider innovations
- Work in partnership with people with care and support needs to co-design and deliver service improvements
- Influence practice at all levels and supporting the organisation’s readiness for CQC assurance
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner, particularly someone with supervisory or leadership experience, who is passionate about quality, improvement and innovation. It would suit someone interested in practice assurance, workforce development, policy, research or service development, and/or those aspiring to progress towards a Principal Social Worker role.

In 2019, North Tyneside Council declared a climate emergency. This declaration set a target to reduce the carbon footprint of the council’s operations, and the borough, by 50% by 2023 and to align to the Government’s net zero target of 2050.
