ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Head of Marketing is a member of the Senior Leadership Team responsible for leading marketing strategy and execution across Stagecoach Performing Arts and Drama Kids Academy.
The role focuses on driving student recruitment, brand growth and franchise network marketing performance through effective demand generation, brand leadership and digital marketing systems.
This role combines strategic marketing leadership with operational delivery, ensuring marketing activity directly supports business growth across the franchise network.
The Head of Marketing will lead the marketing team, oversee external agencies, manage the marketing budget and ensure the organisation’s marketing systems, campaigns and communications are aligned with business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Lead the development and delivery of the annual marketing strategy and plan for Stagecoach and Drama Kids Academy, and ad hoc projects as required.
- Maintain and evolve brand positioning, messaging and tone of voice across both brands.
- Ensure marketing activity supports student recruitment, network growth and brand visibility.
Demand Generation & Student Recruitment
- Oversee national marketing campaigns designed to generate enquiries and drive student enrolment.
- Optimise digital demand generation including paid media, search visibility, website performance and customer journey optimisation.
- Use data & insight, improving campaign performance, lead conversion and customer acquisition.
Franchise Marketing
- Provide marketing frameworks, campaigns and tools to support franchisee-led local marketing.
- Work closely with the International Franchise Team to support franchise network marketing activity and the execution of international marketing initiatives.
- Ensure marketing support aligns with franchisee contractual marketing commitments.
Marketing Operations
- Lead and develop the internal marketing team.
- Manage relationships with external agencies and suppliers.
- Oversee the marketing budget and ensure effective allocation of marketing investment.
Digital & Marketing Systems
- Oversee the performance and development of the Stagecoach and Drama Kids digital ecosystem including websites, CRM and digital marketing platforms.
- Ensure systems effectively support student recruitment, retention & performance tracking.
- Encourage the appropriate use of modern marketing technologies, including emerging AI tools, to improve marketing efficiency, campaign development and customer insight.
Insight & Performance
- Lead consumer and market insight initiatives to inform marketing strategy.
- Track and analyse marketing performance and report on outcomes and return on investment.
Internal Collaboration & Representation
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to support business initiatives and new programme launches.
- Represent the marketing function at conferences, franchise meetings and key network events.
- Contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team to broader organisational planning.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Minimum 10 years’ senior marketing experience
- Proven track record delivering integrated marketing strategies that drive customer acquisition and growth
- Strong expertise in digital demand generation including paid media, SEO, CRM and customer journey optimisation
- Experience managing significant marketing budgets (£1m+)
- Experience leading marketing teams and agency relationships
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to link marketing activity to business outcomes
- Experience working within a franchise or multi-location business environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capability
- Ability to manage multiple strategic priorities and projects simultaneously
- Experience with marketing technologies including CRM systems, CMS platforms, digital advertising platforms, marketing analytics tools and emerging AI-assisted marketing tools
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
- Strong stakeholder management and networking skills
- Customer-focused approach
Experience in the performing arts, education or children’s activity sector would be advantageous.
International marketing experience is desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualification Degree level and post-graduate CIM Diploma or equivalent
