Manufacturing Engineer

Rochdale | £42K + Benefits | 9-Day Fortnight (every second Friday off)

A globally recognised manufacturer of high-performance gear solutions, supplying critical industries across the world. Due to continued growth and investment, we are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the team at our Rochdale facility.

This is a varied role offering a genuine 50/50 split between hands-on manufacturing engineering and higher-level process improvement activities. You'll be heavily involved in CNC programming, machining processes and shop-floor support, whilst also driving continuous improvement projects, process optimisation and long-term manufacturing changes across the business.

Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:

Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer position is essential
Strong background within precision engineering and/or heavy engineering
Experience with CNC machining processes including milling and turning
Grinding process knowledge would be highly advantageous
CNC programming and routing experience
Ability to create and modify manufacturing documentation and processes
Experience using 3D CAD software
Strong understanding of machining methods, tooling and manufacturing best practices
Able to communicate effectively with both shop-floor teams and senior stakeholders
Hands-on approach combined with strong problem-solving skills

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:

Create and optimise CNC programs for milling, turning and grinding operations
Develop and maintain manufacturing routings and process documentation
Provide day-to-day engineering support to production teams
Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and productivity
Lead and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Drive long-term manufacturing and process improvement projects
Work closely with production, quality and design teams to improve manufacturability
Support tooling, fixturing and process development activities
Analyse manufacturing performance data and implement improvement plans
