About the Role
DTM Fabrications (NW) Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Fabricator / Welder to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual who is looking for long-term career progression. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop into a Workshop Foreman role, taking responsibility for supervising workshop operations, maintaining quality standards, and supporting the day-to-day management of fabrication projects.
You will be working on a varied range of steel fabrication projects including structural steelwork, staircases, platforms, balustrades, mesh enclosures and bespoke fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
· Fabricate and weld mild steel components to a high standard.
· Interpret and work accurately from engineering and fabrication drawings.
· Manufacture products to required quality and dimensional standards.
· Carry out MIG welding and general fabrication work.
· Work independently while also contributing effectively within a small workshop team.
· Assist with planning workloads and meeting production deadlines.
· Identify fabrication issues and provide practical solutions.
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
· Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and quality standards.
· Support and mentor apprentices and less experienced fabricators where required.
· Demonstrate leadership qualities with the potential to progress into a Workshop Foreman position.
Essential Requirements
· Level 2 qualification (or above) in Welding & Fabrication.
· Minimum of 5 years’ fabrication and welding experience.
· Ability to read and interpret technical fabrication drawings.
· Experience in structural steel fabrication, staircases and handrails.
· Previous site installation experience.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
· CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain one if required).
· Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work.
· Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
· Strong understanding of safe working practices.
Desirable Skills
· Experience supervising small teams or leading projects.
· Forklift, MEWP or overhead crane experience.
· SSSTS or SMSTS qualification (advantageous but not essential).
· Ability to organise workshop activities and prioritise workloads.

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Friday: 7:30am – 2:30pm
