Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our new optical practice. In this vital role, you will assist customers in selecting the perfect eyewear solutions, ensuring they receive exceptional service and expert advice. Your expertise will help enhance our patients' vision and confidence while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate team committed to improving lives through quality eye care and fashionable eyewear.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assess their optical needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their style, comfort and prescription requirements
Take precise measurements for lens fitting, including pupillary distance and frame adjustments
Verify prescriptions with the optometrist to ensure accurate dispensing
Conduct minor laboratory tasks such as lens mounting and finishing to prepare eyewear for delivery
Educate customers on proper eyewear and available lens options
Maintain detailed records of customer prescriptions, transactions and inventory management
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation procedures

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of human anatomy related to the eye and visual system to provide accurate advice
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
Attention to detail for precise measurements and quality control in eyewear fitting
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team
Passion for delivering outstanding customer service with a positive attitude
