Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter Welder to join our manufacturing / installation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and efficiency work shop and onsite throughout the north west Liverpool Manchester and Cheshire area . This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems such as pump install and general automation process equipment conveyors and process pipework , proficiency in various welding techniques, and the ability to work with hand tools and power tools. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication and welding to contribute to high-quality projects in a dynamic environment.To work in manufacturing ,chemical and petrochemical environments both clean and dusty , this position involves a lot of site work as a well as the workshop based hours.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques MIg and Mma on various materials, including sheet metal and large structural components
- Fabricate and assemble metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide fabrication and assembly processes
- Conduct quality checks on welded joints and fabricated components to ensure compliance with standards
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Assist in the installation and fitting of mechanical components as required
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during fabrication or assembly processes
Experience
- Proven experience in TIG welding, with a strong understanding of ASME BSEN welding standards would be an advantage
- Hands-on experience with fabrication involving sheet metal and structural steel onsite use of scissor lifts FLT and cherry picker / telehandler training will be provided .
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment in a workshop setting guillotines, folders and rollers .Cnc water cutting table programming will be provided if requested.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, assembly processes, and basic mathematics for measurements and calculations
- Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings and schematics
- Previous experience working with mechanical fitting or assembly is highly desirable
