Full job description

Be the organised, welcoming and dependable first point of contact at the heart of our school.

We are looking for a confident and proactive School Administration Officer to lead the smooth day-to-day running of our school office. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same — from supporting families and visitors to maintaining accurate records, coordinating communications and keeping essential school processes on track.

About the role

As School Administration Officer, you will play a key part in ensuring the school runs efficiently, safely and professionally. Working closely with the Headteacher and School Business Manager, you will coordinate core administrative processes including pupil records, attendance, admissions, school communications, staff administration and compliance documentation.

What you’ll be doing

Leading the day-to-day operation of the school office and acting as a key point of contact for administrative matters.
Providing a professional, welcoming reception service for families, visitors, staff and external professionals.
Maintaining accurate pupil, attendance, admissions and operational records using the school’s Management Information System.
Coordinating school communications, calendars, meetings, visits and events.
Supporting safeguarding, compliance, fire safety and GDPR-related administrative processes.
Assisting with staff administration, onboarding records, training records and attendance reporting.
Working collaboratively with senior leaders to make sure administrative priorities support the smooth running of the school.

You communicate warmly and professionally with children, families, colleagues and external partners.
You understand the importance of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection.
You are confident using administrative systems and handling records with care.
You enjoy being part of a team and contributing to a positive, supportive school culture.
