Contract Manager - Social Housing (£50-£60k per year plus bonus)
About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join our growing team. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the delivery of social housing decarbonisation retrofit projects in domestic properties throughout North Yorkshire. The successful candidate will oversee contract performance, ensure compliance with industry regulations, manage engineers and subcontractors, and maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer service. The role requires a proven technical and ops delivery background, with the ability to manage technical teams, subcontractors, and client relationships in live operational environments. You will support and problem solve across a range of services, including Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar, Battery, and Insulation.
This is a key leadership role, where you will oversee multiple projects simultaneously and play a pivotal in driving standards, quality, and safety from pre-construction through to handover. As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of several projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day delivery of social housing domestic retrofit contracts, ensuring works are completed safely, fully compliant, and to a high standard.
Ensure householders are given clear communication on both the scope and timescales associated with all works within their home.
Managing commercial performance, including cost control and forecasting.
Lead, mentor, and support project and site teams to achieve programme, quality, and commercial targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Identify and manage risks and opportunities, driving continuous improvement across projects.
Monitor contract performance against KPIs, budgets, and service level agreements.
Conduct quality assurance inspections and audits across electrical installations and installation activities.
Support workforce planning, resource allocation, and engineer performance management.
Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective contract delivery.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
Maintain accurate records and ensure all compliance documentation is completed and stored appropriately.
Promote a strong health and safety culture, ensuring risks are identified, recorded, escalated and managed appropriately.

Experienced leader with a track record operational delivery ideally in domestic dwellings.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Commercially aware with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and service delivery performance within social housing, or facilities management
Relevant qualification in building, construction, maintenance, surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience (for example SVQ/NVQ, HNC, HND, degree, CIOB, RICS) Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to repairs, maintenance, leadership, customer service or health and safety.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualification
