About the Role

The Diplomatic Insight Media Ltd operates within the media publishing, international affairs content, editorial planning, research support, and digital communications sector. We are seeking an Editorial Strategy Director to lead editorial direction, oversee content planning, and support continued audience and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead editorial strategy, content planning, and publication workflows
Oversee editorial standards, schedules, team performance, budgets, and reporting
Coordinate with writers, editors, researchers, designers, vendors, and internal teams
Monitor content quality, publication timelines, audience engagement, and operational risks
Develop strategies to improve editorial performance, digital reach, and content delivery
Support staff development, workflow improvements, and leadership planning
Prepare senior-level reports, editorial updates, and strategic recommendations

What We Are Looking For

Experience

Strong experience in editorial strategy, publishing, media operations, communications, journalism, research coordination, or digital content management
Previous senior management or department-level leadership experience is preferred
Experience working with editorial teams, researchers, content platforms, vendors, or media service clients is an advantage

Skills

Editorial strategy leadership
Publishing workflow management

Team leadership and stakeholder communication
Budget monitoring and performance reporting
Strong organisation, accuracy, and decision-making skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Media Studies, Publishing, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
Professional certifications in editorial management, digital publishing, communications strategy, project management, or leadership are an advantage

Pay: £25,420.00-£29,000.00 per year
