Full job description

Site Maintenance and Safety Officer

We are currently seeking a proactive and reliable Site Maintenance and Safety Officer to join a busy educational environment on a full-time, year-round basis. This role involves working a rotating shift pattern and participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in maintenance, facilities, or site management who is passionate about creating a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
Respond to repairs and technical issues in a timely manner
Support the smooth day-to-day operation of the premises
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and site security
Work closely with colleagues and contractors to ensure facilities remain safe and operational
Participate in shift patterns and out-of-hours emergency call-outs
Respond appropriately to security and safety incidents
Provide support across multiple sites when required
Attend mandatory training and ongoing professional development sessions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Previous experience within maintenance, caretaking, facilities, or site management
Good practical skills including general repairs and maintenance
Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and problem-solving skills
A flexible and proactive approach to work
Willingness to participate in shift work and emergency call-outs
