Full job description

**MUST BE A CODED STEEL WELDER**

Permanent Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

We’re recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and fabrication company seeking an experienced Coded Welder to join their team in Milton Keynes. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering long-term stability, competitive pay, and overtime opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out high-quality coded welding to approved standards and procedures.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
Weld structural steel and fabricated components using MIG, MAG, or MMA processes (depending on project requirements).
Ensure all welds meet quality and safety standards.
Perform visual inspections of completed welds.
Work closely with the fabrication and production teams to meet project deadlines.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment.

Requirements

Valid welding qualifications/coding (such as BS EN ISO 9606-1 or equivalent).
Previous experience working as a coded welder in a structural steel, fabrication, or heavy engineering environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Reliable, hardworking, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
