About Heritage Day Tours
Heritage Day Tours is a new premium day tour company based in Buckinghamshire, offering carefully organised days out to some of England’s most beautiful and historic destinations.
Our trips are particularly designed with older adults in mind, with a strong focus on comfort, companionship, excellent organisation and genuinely warm customer service.
As we grow across Buckinghamshire, we are looking for a confident, personable and highly organised Community Engagement & Operations Coordinator to help us build relationships with local retirement communities and introduce more people to Heritage Day Tours.
This is not a purely office based administrative role.
We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and representing a growing local brand, while also being organised enough to manage enquiries, bookings, follow ups and basic administration.
The Role
A major part of your role will involve visiting retirement villages, retirement developments, care communities, social groups and other organisations across Buckinghamshire.
You may attend informal coffee mornings, resident meetings and community events where you will introduce Heritage Day Tours, explain our upcoming trips, answer questions and help interested customers make bookings.
You will become one of the main faces of Heritage Day Tours within the local community.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Visiting retirement villages and older person communities across Buckinghamshire
- Attending and hosting informal coffee mornings and introductory sessions
- Presenting Heritage Day Tours and our upcoming trips to small groups
- Building strong relationships with community managers, activity coordinators and residents
- Following up enquiries and prospective customers
- Helping convert interest into confirmed tour bookings
- Assisting customers with the booking process
- Taking payments using a company payment terminal where required
- Responding to emails and telephone enquiries
- Maintaining accurate records of contacts, visits, enquiries and bookings
- Helping coordinate community visits and outreach schedules
- Providing general administrative and operational support to the Directors
- Feeding back customer comments and opportunities to help us improve and grow
- Representing Heritage Day Tours professionally throughout Buckinghamshire
Who We're Looking For
This role would suit someone who is naturally warm, confident, proactive and extremely comfortable talking to people.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can walk into a room of people they have never met, introduce themselves confidently, start conversations and make people feel immediately comfortable.
The ideal candidate will be:

- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets and basic administrative systems
- Confident handling customer enquiries and bookings
- Professional and well presented
- Able to manage their own schedule effectively
- Enthusiastic about helping a new local company grow
Experience in community engagement, care, retirement living, hospitality, tourism, sales, events, customer service, activities coordination or administration would be particularly advantageous.
Experience organising community events, coffee mornings, activities or excursions for older adults would be especially relevant.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are strongly preferred, as regular travel around Buckinghamshire will form an important part of the position.
Working With Heritage Day Tours
This will initially be a flexible, part-time position, with hours increasing according to business requirements and the success of our community outreach programme.
Some administrative work may be completed remotely, while a significant part of the role will involve travelling to communities across Buckinghamshire.
You will receive:
