Full job description

Sensata Technologies is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our Newall operation in Leicester, UK.
The Operations Manager is responsible for directing Newall’s Global Operations with full management for customer service, production, facility, equipment maintenance, quality, and safety. This position will be fully responsible for maintaining production to achieve budgeted volumes, cost, and quality standards.

Supporting a business recognized for its precision measurement and motion control solutions, the Operations Manager will lead day to day operations while developing organizational capability, advancing continuous improvement, and ensuring the site delivers exceptional quality, customer satisfaction, and business results. This is a high impact role with the opportunity to shape the performance and growth of the operation while building and developing a high performing team.

General Responsibilities

Manage quality strategies collectively with site leadership team to achieve short and long term objectives. Provide leadership in execution through a structured approach
Manage day to day manufacturing operations including activities with material management and production scheduling to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner
Manage resources to meet organizational objectives
Lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve breakthrough improvements at all levels in the organization
Provide a safe and conducive working environment that promotes creativity and innovation
Leads activities with management team to implement cost effective systems of control
Support organizational environmental, health and safety goals and lead effort in manufacturing

Experience / Qualifications

A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Essential Criteria:

A relevant university degree and 7-10 years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience in a similar role of at least 12 or more years.
Lean &/or Six Sigma qualification / experience
High level management experience
Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
