Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ironworker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of metal fabrication and assembly, demonstrating proficiency in welding and the use of various tools. This role requires a commitment to safety and quality, as well as the ability to work collaboratively on construction sites.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to specifications.
- Perform welding tasks using stick welding techniques and other methods as required.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to cut, shape, and join materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in ironworking or a related field is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in welding techniques, particularly stick welding, is essential.
- Familiarity with sheet metal work is advantageous.
- Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations are required.
- Ability to effectively use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment.
