Full job description

As a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) you will support the nurse and vets with in-patient procedures and pet care delivering exceptional care always there to our clients, patients, and colleagues.

About you

You’re skilled at providing exceptional client care and are passionate about caring for pets. You’re a team player who wants to make a real difference in a practice that values and supports you.

We welcome applications from candidates able to prioritise, remain calm under pressure and who are flexible and willing to learn.

This role is not suitable for young workers in line with Health and Safety Executive (government) direction due to the expected duties of the role. Therefore, you will be asked to confirm that you are over the age of 18 as part of the application process.

What you’ll be doing

Typically, in this role, you’ll:

Deliver exceptional care to clients, supporting surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
Deliver patient monitoring and care to pets, including walking, toileting and feeding
Work collaboratively within a supportive team

This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday. The role operates on a rotating shift pattern, alternating between one week of early shifts and one week of late shifts to support clinic opening hours between 08:00 and 19:30.

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly within these hours, ensuring effective support and service delivery throughout the day.
