Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for food safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations within a professional setting. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations and assisting with meal service.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation, including chopping, peeling, and basic cooking tasks
Support the culinary team in food safety and hygiene practices according to industry standards
Organise ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods
Help with cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
Prepare ingredients for cooking or serving as directed by senior staff
Assist with serving food to customers or guests as required
Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations
Support the team during catering events or special functions by helping with setup and breakdown

Experience

Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or food preparation is desirable but not essential
Familiarity with kitchen environments and basic cooking skills are advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is preferred
Experience in meal preparation, food presentation, or serving roles will be beneficial
A proactive attitude with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential
