OCU leads the way in end-to-end infrastructure engineering across the utilities, digital, and energy markets, specialising in the safe and efficient delivery of complex client requirements. With a breadth of capability, depth of operational capacity, and a commitment to innovation, OCU is not just part of the market — it is leading it.
Working directly with many of the UK’s leading water, energy transition, telecoms, and infrastructure clients, we are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our growing Water sector team.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of wastewater infrastructure and treatment projects, supporting civil, mechanical, and electrical site activities across live operational environments.
We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee day-to-day site operations across wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects. This role is focused on leadership, safety, coordination, and ensuring works are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
You will supervise daily site activities, subcontractors, and direct labour, ensuring all works are completed safely, in line with specifications, and to programme requirements. The role will involve overseeing a range of civil, mechanical, and electrical activities including ducting, trenching, pipework, cabling, and associated infrastructure works across wastewater treatment facilities.
You will conduct site inspections, quality checks, and safety audits while supporting the management of site resources, workflow planning, and productivity. You will also play an important role in supporting incident and near-miss reporting, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and a strong safety culture is maintained across all activities.
The successful candidate will ensure all site documentation, inductions, permits, and safety procedures are in place and compliant with company and industry standards. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and wider delivery teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered successfully within challenging operational environments.
We are looking for someone with previous site supervision or site management experience within the civil, mechanical, electrical, water, or wastewater sector. Experience working on wastewater treatment projects is essential, alongside a strong understanding of site operations within live environments.
You should hold a valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification, with IOSH or NEBOSH certification considered advantageous. NRSWA Supervisor accreditation would be beneficial, alongside awareness of confined spaces, deep excavation safety, and working at height practices.
Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to coordinate teams, manage subcontractors, and maintain high standards of safety and quality across site activities.
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
