We are seeking a reliable Marquee Rigger and Van Driver to join our team, not experience needed, but if you have it, will be a bonus, training will be in place This role involves the safe and efficient installation of marquees and associated structures, as well as the transportation of equipment and materials to various event locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, a good understanding of rigging procedures, and a valid driving licence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring the successful setup and takedown of marquee events.
Responsibilities
- Erect, dismantle, and secure marquees and temporary structures in accordance with safety standards and client specifications.
- Operate vans to transport equipment, materials, and personnel to designated sites.
- Assist with loading and unloading of equipment, ensuring all items are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Conduct safety checks on rigging gear and vehicles prior to use.
- Collaborate with event organisers and team members to ensure timely setup and takedown of marquees.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during rigging activities and transportation.
Qualifications
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating vans or lorries.
- Previous experience in marquee rigging or similar event setup roles is desirable but not necessary
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy objects safely.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor environments.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures related to rigging and transportation is advantageous.
- Erecting and dismantling marquees on site, and at the warehouse (CM16 4EL), cleaning and preparing equipment between hires.
- Ensure all vehicles are loaded correctly before leaving to go to job. Check lists should be used to ensure nothing is forgotten.
- Drive the vehicles to and from the jobs, safely, carefully and courteously, ensuring that parking restrictions and speed regulations are observed.
- Liaise with client and other contractors on site, demonstrating the highest levels of customer service as an ambassador for the company.
- Ensure job is completed to company standard and customer is satisfied before leaving site
- Ensure all equipment is collected and accounted for before leaving site.
