Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills to contribute to the successful delivery of projects across various sectors. The Estimator will play a vital role in cost control and project planning, supporting the organisation’s growth and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Analyse project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and suppliers to gather relevant data and clarify project requirements
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses
- Monitor industry trends and market prices to ensure estimates remain competitive and accurate
- Identify potential cost savings without compromising quality or safety standards
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, assumptions, and supporting documentation for future reference
- Support project teams during the bidding process and project execution phases as required
Experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator within construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors is preferred
- Strong understanding of cost control principles and techniques
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts effectively
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Fire Doors knowledge preferred but not essential
- Experience in joinery or similar trade beneficial but not essential

Pay: £25,500.00-£35,500.00 per year
