Butcher / Skilled Food Preparation Assistant Full Time | Eurospar Ballymoney Are you an experienced butcher looking for a role with great work-life balance and sociable daytime hours? Or perhaps you’re a chef with strong knife skills and experience preparing fresh food products looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity to join the team at Eurospar Ballymoney, a modern, community-focused store passionate about delivering quality fresh food and excellent customer service. About the Role This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh food and takes pride in quality and presentation. This is not a traditional carcass butchery role — there is no breaking down of whole animals. Instead, the successful candidate will focus on: Preparing and presenting high-quality fresh meat products for retail Slicing, dicing, trimming and portioning meat products to specification Producing attractive pre-packed lines and maintaining excellent display standards Managing waste and supporting strong stock control processes Assisting with ordering and running the day-to-day operation of the department Delivering excellent hygiene, food safety and customer service standards Helping develop and grow the butchery offering within store What We’re Looking For We are ideally seeking an experienced butcher, however we would also welcome applications from chefs or kitchen professionals with strong knife skills and fresh food preparation experience. You’ll ideally have: Previous experience within a butchery, kitchen or fresh food environment Good knife skills and confidence handling fresh meat products Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation A positive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn Good stock awareness and an understanding of minimising waste A desire to help drive standards and grow the department What We Offer Sociable daytime hours with no late evenings Full-time hours between 42.5 hours per week Working within Monday to Saturday, between the hours of 6.30am – 6pm, with flexibility where required Attractive rate of pay Training and development opportunities The chance to take ownership and help shape an important fresh food department If you enjoy working with fresh food, take pride in quality, and want to be part of a supportive team in a thriving local business, we’d love to hear from you.
