Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant/Cook to join our team, providing high-quality meal services in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and culinary arts, with experience in kitchen operations and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional catering setting, contributing to the delivery of nutritious and appealing meals.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to specified menus and dietary requirements
Assist with food presentation and portion control to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations
Support in meal planning, ingredient sourcing, and stock management
Serve food to customers in a courteous and efficient manner
Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
Assist with cleaning dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment after service periods
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles; restaurant or catering experience is essential
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation and cleanliness
Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues
Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the catering schedule
Basic understanding of serving procedures and customer service principles
