Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a versatile and enthusiastic Café All Rounder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of delivering excellent and friendly customer service and possess a broad skill set encompassing excellent cooking skills and food preparation, food safety, coffee making and serving. This role offers an opportunity to work in a pleasant environment where flexibility and teamwork are very important. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting in the smooth operation of the café, supporting the younger team members, providing a welcome to all customers, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency. Attention to detail is very important.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook our straightforward and homemade menu items.
Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, adhering to quality standards.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other light snacks.
Serve customers efficiently at the counter or table, ensuring excellent service at all times.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations.
Manage cash register operations with accuracy using basic maths skills for transactions.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow food safety standards diligently.
Assist with general cleaning duties and organisational tasks within the café environment.

Requirements

Previous barista experience or knowledge of coffee preparation is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene.
Experience in serving customers is advantageous.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong self-management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
Ability to work well in a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.

Pay: £12.80-£13.00 per hour
