Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner Level 2 to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to children in a nurturing environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst working closely with children to support their developmental needs. The ideal applicant will have a passion for early childhood education and possess strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.

Duties

Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
Supervise and support children during play, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times.
Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily activities for reporting to parents and management.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet individual children's needs and organisational goals.
Assist in organising nursery routines, including meal preparation, hygiene routines, and outdoor activities.
Support new staff members through mentoring and guidance, demonstrating leadership qualities within the team.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times, including risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development, behaviour, and daily experiences.

Experience

Previous experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting is essential.
Proven management or leadership experience within childcare environments is highly desirable.
Demonstrable knowledge of child development principles and childcare best practices.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise confidently with children, parents, and team members.
Experience working directly with children of various ages, demonstrating patience and understanding.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles requiring travel between nursery locations or community engagement activities.
