About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated Electrician’s Mate / Experienced Electrical Apprentice to join our growing Solar PV and Battery Storage installation team.
The role will primarily involve working alongside qualified electricians carrying out domestic and commercial Solar PV and Battery Storage installations throughout South Wales and surrounding areas.
This is a hands-on installation role and would suit someone who already has a good level of electrical installation experience and wants to develop a long-term career within the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting electricians with Solar PV and Battery Storage installations
- Installation of containment, cabling and associated electrical equipment
- Installation of inverters, battery systems, isolators and associated equipment
- Assisting with AC and DC electrical installation works
- Cable pulling, clipping, dressing and preparation for termination
- Working safely within domestic and commercial environments
- Preparing materials, tools and equipment for installations
- Loading and unloading installation vehicles
- Maintaining clean, organised and professional working areas
- Following company installation standards, RAMS and health & safety procedures
- Working efficiently as part of an installation team
- Representing the company professionally when working at customers' homes and commercial premises
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Own reliable vehicle and ability to travel to the company base/sites as required
- Previous electrical installation experience
- Experience as an Electrician’s Mate or Electrical Apprentice
- Good understanding of electrical installation practices
- Confident and competent using electrical and power tools
- Good practical ability and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping
- Professional attitude when dealing with customers
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong approach to health & safety

Qualifications & Desirable Experience
Ideally, applicants will have or be working towards:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification
- Electrical apprenticeship or recognised electrical training
- ECS/CSCS card
- Previous Solar PV installation experience
- Previous Battery Storage installation experience
- Experience working within occupied domestic properties
Solar PV and Battery Storage experience would be advantageous; however, training can be provided for the right candidate with a strong electrical installation background and the right attitude.
