Full job description

Job Summary

Apacor is a 65-person ISO 13485-accredited medical diagnostics manufacturer specialising in injection moulding and assembly of IVD and lab equipment. As our business grows and we invest in new automation, we're looking for a hands on automation technician with experience of automated machinery in a production environment to keep our manufacturing equipment running reliably.

The Role

This is a practical, engineering-focused role centred on keeping our automated production, moulding, and assembly machinery operational. You'll respond to breakdowns, carry out planned servicing and fault finding, drive continuous improvement, and support resolution of equipment-related quality issues. You'll also carry out general repairs across the facility. Some electrical, controls, or PLC work may be involved.

Responsibilities

Respond to machine breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.
Schedule and carry out planned servicing on automated production, moulding, and assembly machinery.
Fault find and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and control issues on automated equipment.
Identify and implement continuous improvement actions to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and performance.
Support Quality teams in investigating and resolving equipment-related quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Carry out general repairs across the facility and building services.
Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation.
Support electrical, controls, and PLC tasks where required; training available.
Work in line with health, safety, quality, and compliance requirements at all times.
Carry out other reasonable duties as requested to meet business needs.

What We're Looking For

Proven hands-on experience with automated machinery or production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and pneumatic fault-finding and repair skills.
A proactive, problem-solving approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure during breakdowns.
Good record-keeping and communication skills.
Electrical, controls, and/or PLC experience is desirable but not essential.
Experience in a regulated environment such as ISO 13485 or medical devices is an advantage.
