We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused administrator to join our Housing Needs team. As a Choice Based Lettings Administrator, you’ll play a key role in delivering a fair, efficient and accessible allocations service, helping residents navigate housing options during what can often be a challenging time.

This is a varied and fast-paced role where you’ll work with a wide range of customers, partners and internal teams to ensure applications are processed accurately and support is provided in a clear and compassionate way.

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting the delivery of an effective Choice Based Lettings and Housing Allocations service

Providing advice to customers on housing options, including the housing register, Home choice, low-cost home ownership and mutual exchange schemes

Managing enquiries via phone, email and face-to-face, ensuring excellent customer service at all times

Processing applications, verifying information and maintaining accurate case records across multiple systems

Assisting customers who may need additional support to access the lettings scheme, ensuring equality of access

Liaising with internal departments and external agencies to gather and share information

Supporting administrative processes such as re-registrations, eligibility checks and maintaining statistics/reporting data

Contributing to fraud awareness and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation

About the role

You’ll be an organised and empathetic individual who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys helping people. You’ll be confident communicating with a diverse range of customers and able to handle sensitive situations professionally.

We’re looking for someone who has:

Experience working in a busy, customer-focused administrative or office environment

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain information clearly

The ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines in a fast-paced setting

Good IT skills, including experience of databases, spreadsheets and general office systems

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Confidence dealing with challenging or vulnerable customers in a calm and supportive way

A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and with external partners
