We are looking for a Quality Inspector to join our team to play a crucial part in ensuring components and assemblies meet exacting quality standards. Using your previous experience within a precision machining environment, you’ll be responsible for detailed inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain compliance and traceability.
Responsibilities
Perform First offs, In-Process, Goods Inwards and Final Inspections
Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to customer requirements
Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance systems and support continuous improvement initiatives
Generate accurate inspection reports and document results as required
Ensure all traceability documentation is recorded prior to product release or acceptance
Ensure correct practise and legalities with respect to product quality and customer requirements
Identify and report non-conformances raising appropriate paperwork and following up as required
Support root cause analysis and contribute to corrective and preventive actions
Assist with third-party audits, providing inspection records and quality data as needed
Issue sub-contract purchase orders where parts require additional processing
Perform calibration of measuring equipment and control the calibration log
Maintain a safe and organized working environment
Skills and Experience
Experience of working in a precision machining environment
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Experience in mechanical measurement using standard measurement tools, micrometers, vernier callipers, etc.
Good understanding of GD&T principles
Working knowledge of ISO9001
Proven experience as a CMM Inspector would be beneficial but not essential
Experience of creating inspection documentation and FAIR Reports would be beneficial.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills
A flexible and adaptable team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen or resident in the UK for the past 5 years in order to apply for SC clearance.
