Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Bartender / Barback to join our vibrant hospitality team. This role involves delivering exceptional service in a lively bar environment, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting bar operations, preparing beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is advantageous, along with a strong understanding of food safety and excellent time management skills.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and presentation standards
Support bartenders by restocking supplies, garnishes, and glassware promptly to ensure smooth service
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning equipment and sanitising surfaces in compliance with food safety regulations
Monitor guest consumption responsibly, ensuring adherence to licensing laws and promoting responsible drinking
Assist in setting up the bar before service and clearing down at the end of shifts
Engage with guests courteously, providing excellent hospitality to enhance their overall experience
Manage cash register transactions accurately and efficiently
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation during busy periods

Experience

Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of food safety standards relevant to bar service is desirable
Basic maths skills for handling transactions and measuring ingredients are required
Proven ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts
Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
Familiarity with serving alcohol responsibly and understanding licensing laws is advantageous
