Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team on a full-time night shift basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients during overnight hours. This role offers an opportunity to work within a supportive environment, contributing to patient recovery and comfort through specialised nursing skills.

Duties

Deliver comprehensive patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assessing patient needs during night shifts
Administer prescribed medications accurately and safely in accordance with healthcare protocols
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, documenting observations, treatments, and responses
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans
Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatments
Ensure compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies at all times
Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing immediate care until further assistance is available
Assist in the preparation of patients for procedures or transfers within the facility

Experience

Proven experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting, preferably within a hospital or similar healthcare environment
Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology relevant to patient care
Demonstrated expertise in medication administration, including intravenous therapies and injections
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively during night shifts
Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills, capable of providing reassurance to patients under stress

This role requires a committed professional who is attentive to detail, adaptable to the demands of overnight work, and passionate about delivering outstanding patient care. Candidates must hold valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or equivalent regulatory body.
