Quality inspection of vehicle builds. Chassis, sub-frame and associated parts and components inspection.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Receipt of new vehicles on delivery and complete relevant paperwork.
- Carry out stage inspections of vehicles and subassemblies during build & on completion.
- Inspection of quality critical parts and components, including bodywork, engineering and electrical function of components.
- Carry out vehicle pump testing, aerial platform testing and final inspections.
- Inspection of subcontract installations including CCTV systems and conspicuity fitments.
- Liaise with different departments to confirm specifications and requirements.
- Complete vehicle release paperwork for customer delivery.
- Liaise with customer for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
- Identify non-conformances and contribute to problem solving efforts.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship (mechanical or electrical) would be desirable.
- Previous experience of working as quality mechanical & electrical inspection role in a manufacturing environment (preferably assembly line).
- Ability to carry out quality inspections with a keen eye for detail.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Flexible approach and able to adapt to the company’s operational requirements.
- Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook and Excel spreadsheets, etc.
