Main Responsibilities
You will report to and support the Head of Academy by leading the day to day operational management of a programme area and associated teams.
Duties you will undertake in this role will include:

Chair programme team meetings, ensuring that they run effectively and are focused on improving the quality of education for students;
- Lead the course review process for all courses within the programme area and contribute to achievement of QIP actions;
- Contribute to programme, Academy, and Faculty Self-Assessment;
- Support engagement with employers and involve them in the co-design and co-creation of the curriculum, including the facilitation of Employer Academies;
- In conjunction with the Head of Faculty and Head of Student Experience, the monitoring of the performance of individual students against target academic and development grades.
- Working with the Head of Quality, Teaching, Learning and Assessment to ensure that all relevant Mark books and tracking are completed and up to date;
- Ensuring that all students have short, medium, and long term targets and make good progress against them;
- Tracking and implementing changes based on external influences and internal changes;
- Overseeing the assessment strategy for programmes in your area and reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of assessment, using findings to instigate change and enhance the curriculum;
- Taking the role of Lead IV for the programme or supporting the Lead IV to ensure that the rule of the awarding organisation are followed, standardisation activities are followed and EQA visits are effectively planned for and managed;
- Engaging with the Professional Standards in the Education and Skills sector to develop your own practice and to support other teachers in the programme team to develop their practice.
Teaching and Assessment
For your teaching hours you will undertake duties that include:

Teach and assess on a range of courses and learning programmes, appropriate to your skills and qualifications. You will undertake all necessary planning, preparation and assessment to ensure excellent teaching and learning occurs;
- You will undertake the necessary administrative/support tasks that underpin effective teaching, learning and assessment, such as participating in learner recruitment, registration, attendance, tracking, reporting and claiming achievements;
- You will work with other teams across College to ensure students are supported to develop skills for learning and work, including through work experience.
Structure

Your line manager will be a Head of Academy. You will regularly report on your objectives to update them on a range of KPI’s including (but not limited to) student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, progress, attendance and punctuality;
- You will liaise with all staff that teach on your programme(s), monitoring performance indicators;
- You will provide day to day leadership, guidance and support to those who teach on your programmes through informal methods and regular team meetings;
- You will be part of Curriculum, Academy and Faculty teams and will work with other staff to develop and share good practice in the area;
- You may be required to participate in cross college teams or working groups on key projects.
