The twin objectives of St George’s Crypt are the relief of hardship and poverty among those living with homelessness, poverty and addiction in the city of Leeds and beyond, and the advancement of the Christian religion for public benefit. Safeguarding Responsibilities:
Ø Enforcing the company’s safeguarding policy.

Ø Recognise the holistic needs of all service users both practical and spiritual and either respond directly or refer as appropriate.

Ø Due to the nature of the role and the workplace, the post holder must be over 18 years of age.
Job Purpose:
The Retail Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in building long-term relationships within local communities to support the growth of community engagement, increase awareness of the charity’s work, and generate income.
Working with the retail team, the postholder will develop and deliver community-led initiatives, promote shop-based income generation activities, and encourage donations, volunteering, and Gifts in Kind. They will enhance the charity’s presence within local communities, helping to maximise income and supporter engagement in line with the charity’s mission and values.
Key Job Role Responsibilities and Main Tasks:
Community Engagement & Representation
Ø Build strong relationships with community groups and schools.
Ø Build strong relationships with the retail team to create and support instore income generation, awareness, campaigns, events and donation drives.
Ø Represent St George’s Crypt and retail team within the local community at events, presentations, and supporter meetings.
Ø Act as an ambassador and promote the mission and impact of the charity and retail across diverse audiences.
Retail Development & Delivery
Ø Inspire and support individuals and groups undertaking community income generation activities.
Ø Identify new opportunities for community and retail across Leeds.
Ø Plan and deliver effective community and retail events and activities.
Ø Support the growth and awareness of the retail network and long‑term community engagement.
Ø Deliver excellent supporter care, ensuring supporters / volunteers feel valued and engaged with the charity’s mission.
Volunteer Coordination
Ø Recruit, motivate, and support volunteers involved in community giving.
Ø Coordinate volunteer participation at events and ensure volunteers feel valued.
Campaigns, Communications & Promotion
Ø Promote appeals and campaigns through local networks.
Ø Work with communications colleagues to develop new awareness materials.
Ø Support media and publicity opportunities linked to community engagement.
Ø Support Retail to maximise Gift aid, donations and local income generation opportunities.
Administration, Reporting & Compliance
Ø Maintain accurate supporter records using the charity’s CRM system.
Ø Track income, prepare reports, and support strategic planning.
Ø Ensure all activities comply with regulations, health and safety requirements, GDPR and best practice.
Ø Monitor income performance against agreed income targets and provide regular reporting on activity and outcomes.
Other
Ø To work across our retail portfolio from time to time to assist with holiday / sickness cover.

Person Specification:
Essential Charity Wide:
· DBS Cleared.
· Safeguarding training.
