Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated steel worker to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining steel frameworks and structures on various building projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience in related trades such as carpentry, roofing, or welding is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Erecting and installing steel frame building, roofing, cladding and groundworks
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly
- Operating hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during fabrication and installation processes
- Assisting with fabrication tasks, including cutting, welding, and shaping steel components
- Performing maintenance, repairs, and modifications on existing structures as required
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and productivity
Qualifications
- Competence in welding, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of structural steel installation procedures and safety standards
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Strong physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials safely
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- All of the above is desirable but not a necessity as training will be provided
- Relevant certifications or licences (e.g., CSCS card) are preferred but not essential
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- A proactive attitude towards safety procedures and teamwork
