About Us
Profile Interiors is a specialist in bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects, known for high-quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and reliability. We work predominantly on commercial projects, with some high-end residential work, supplying and installing bespoke joinery such as reception desks, AV walls, cabinetry, tea points, office furniture, and other architecturally designed items.
Based in Bideford, North Devon, and delivering projects mainly across London and the South West, we are a growing team with a reputation for delivering exceptional results and building strong, long-term client relationships.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and driven Project Manager – ideally with a background in cabinet making or joinery, who understands the craft and is ready to take full responsibility for the successful delivery of our bespoke joinery projects.
This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career — potentially someone currently working as a site leader, team supervisor, or senior joiner, who wants to transition into a project management role and take on wider responsibility for delivery, client liaison, and project coordination.
You’ll be coordinating closely with our site leaders (fitting teams), clients, Bideford-based workshop team, and the Director and Operations Manager to ensure deadlines are met, costs are controlled, and health & safety requirements are fully implemented.
This is a highly visible role that requires strong communication skills, excellent organisation, and a hands-on, solutions-focused approach. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, capable of building trust with clients, resolving site issues efficiently, and keeping everyone on track.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of joinery fit-out projects from planning through to handover.
- Coordinate with site leaders/fitting teams, workshop staff, and management to ensure timely and high-quality installation.
- Maintain regular, efficient communication with clients to manage expectations and control costs.
- Attend client/site meetings in London (typically 1–2 days/week or as needed).
- Visit project sites to monitor progress, safety, and quality of work.
- Prepare and manage RAMS and ensure full health & safety compliance on all sites.
- Liaise regularly with the Director and Operations Manager on project performance, challenges, and resourcing.
- Ensure all works are delivered to agreed deadlines, specifications, and budgets.
- Build strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and maintain our reputation.
- Be a key point of contact and maintain a high level of visibility and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Solid joinery or cabinet-making background with strong industry knowledge.
- Previous experience managing or supporting fit-out or joinery projects.
- Excellent understanding of RAMS, CDM, and on-site health and safety compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills – confident, clear, and client-facing.
- Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to prioritise under pressure.
- Able to attend sites across London and travel to Bideford once per week.
- Proficient in digital tools for project tracking and communication.
Desirable:
- Experience in commercial interiors or high-end bespoke joinery.
- SMSTS, SSSTS, or CSCS certification (or willingness to achieve this).
- Full UK driving licence.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary dependent on experience.
- Paid travel to and from site plus day-rate subsistence allowance.
- Hybrid working: site, office, and home-based balance.
- Strong professional development and career progression in a growing company.
- Supportive team culture with access to experienced makers and managers.
- Equal opportunity employer – we welcome applicants from anywhere in the UK, as long as they can reliably travel to Bideford weekly.
